I woke up slowly in Dante’s arms, my body sore and completely exhausted. The warm weight of his arm was draped across my waist, keeping me pinned against his chest. Dim orange sunlight filtered through the blinds, showing that afternoon had slipped into evening.
The sound of running water echoed from the attached bathroom, steady and rhythmic. Dante had evidently slipped out of bed while I was half-asleep to take a shower. I stretched lazily across the rumpled sheets, a small smile playing on my lips as the memories of the day flooded back.
